WHAT TO EXPECT

WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR HIKE

HIKES

All hikes will last approximately two to eight hours each. Depending on distance and the abilities of participants

MEETING YOUR GUIDE

All hikers will meet their guide at the Kilauea Visitor Center. From there you will caravan with your guide to the trailhead.  Your guide will supply you with backpacks, first aid, and extra clothing if necessary. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided for you by your guide.

WHAT TO BRING

Athletic clothing, hiking boots or trail runners, sunscreen, a protective hat, and sunglasses. During the winter months, it is wise to bring a jacket because the park is at a higher altitude than much of the island. Additionally, guests should bring three to four quarts of water per participant. Guides will check water at the trailhead.
