The private 3-hour hike commonly uses the Kīlauea Welcome Center at Kīlauea Military Camp area, the private 4.5-hour hike commonly uses the Kīlauea Iki Overlook area, and the private 6-hour hike commonly uses the Kīlauea Visitor Center area.
The Private Mauna Loa Ancient Forest & Bird Hike uses a confirmed Puʻu ʻŌʻō Trail or Saddle Road-area access point.
These are commonly used meeting areas, not guaranteed fixed points. Your exact meeting location, map pin, arrival time and written directions are confirmed after booking and may change with the selected route, access and current conditions.
Guests must arrange their own reliable round-trip transportation. Uber and other rideshare availability can be limited in and around the park, and public bus travel can take a long time. Do not rely on rideshare or the bus unless both arrival and return transportation have been confirmed in advance.
Park entrance: Guests are responsible for their own Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park entrance pass for experiences inside the park. Follow your booking confirmation for the current pass and arrival instructions for your selected hike.
What to bring: Wear closed-toe hiking shoes and bring your own water, sun protection, personal medication and layers for changing weather.
Route flexibility: Routes and stops may change because of weather, park closures, volcanic gas, trail conditions or volcanic activity.
Food: Food inclusions vary by experience. Light snacks are included on the standard private volcano hikes, and the six-hour private hike includes a gourmet trail lunch. Private Keiki hike includes no food or snacks. Water is not provided, and breakfast is not included. Follow the individual tour description and booking confirmation for the exact food inclusions for your experience.
